 Did you know that you have been set
aside to lead and impact a particular set of people? Yet, most ministers I talk
to are not fully aware of those the Lord has predestined them to lead and guide.
I call these particular people your flock.
Your flock is very specific to a set of people with particular characteristics
and attributes.
Every Christian has a flock. No matter what you are called to do, you have a set
of people the Lord desires to reach through you.

As much as I just LOVE
the internet as a tool to connect with other Kingdom Ministers, it is easy to
forget the power of the pen in growing your ministry. This all-too-often
overlooked ways of reaching out need to make a comeback.
Here are a few tips to help you utilize the power of the pen to grow your
ministry:

Thank you cards. There is nothing that replaces the power of a hand-written
note or Thank you card. Take time to make a list of those people you want to
thank and drop them a hand-written note.

If you are not into the hand-written thing and need a little help, a great
resources is www.sendoutcards.com. It automates this process for you and allows
you to choose from thousands of cards and even gifts to keep in touch with
people.

Customize some postcards to send some love. You can get some customized
postcards printed with info on your ministry on one side and space to write and
address on the other. A great resource for inexpensive postcards that I love is
www.rushflyers.com.

Greetings,
 I had a life-changing weekend! I
traveled to Atlanta, GA to meet with a room full of powerful ministers to
strategize the future of our ministries.
This was a real treat for me!
I am usually out there on my own trailblazing the path for others. To connect
with someone who is truly a mentor whom the Lord has sent me was one of the most
magnificent feelings.
As I was asking the Lord what to share in this column, He dropped it in my
spirit to share how to recognize when He sends you a true teacher.
Some characteristics of a teacher sent from the Lord are:
-
They are secure in who they are as
an individual as well as their place in God’s Kingdom.
-
They have done their Self-work and
do not have insecurities about your greatness.
-
They give you plenty of space to be
who the Lord created you to be, with no holding back, playing small or
apologizing for your power.
-
They are inspired by your gifting,
not threatened.
-
They desire to see you change the
world and want to help you get there.
-
They are already in action in the
area in which you are seeking teaching or mentoring.
-
They have expertise beyond what you
know how to do.
-
They recognize you as someone with
whom they would love to work, guide and support.
Here are some guidelines to help you connect with the right teacher at the
right time:

Be clear of what a true teacher
is. A teacher is someone who the Lord will send to help you fulfill the call
on your life. It is not someone to emulate or worship. He or she is someone
who is 100% tuned into the Holy Spirit and are praying for you to appear
just as you are praying for them. They will recognize you when you show up.

Ask. While the Lord does know
your need, He requires that you activate His Word with the power of your
tongue. When you are ready for your next teacher, you have to call them
forth so all of Heaven moves of your behalf.

Make sure you are at the end of
what you know how to do. Do all you know to do and the Lord will know
that you have been obedient to all He has called you to do and send some
help or guidance in moving forward. The key is to actually execute
everything the Lord has already told you to do before you ask for your next
teacher.

Honor your teacher’s time. If
they charge for their time, make sure you ask the Lord to provide
the resources for you to fully honor their time, expertise and counsel. This
mentor is not there for you to try to get what everybody else pays for at no
cost. They have paid a high price for the wisdom they have gained.
Stretch your faith and know that God will provide at the right time for you
to honor your teacher's time.
If you have not gotten to a point that you can believe God for the resources to
work with them, you may not be as ready as you think you are. I know that sounds
harsh, but it really is true.
I hope this helps guide you in making sure you know how to recognize the teacher
whom the Lord has sent when it is time.
