 I am getting more and more questions
about what it takes to grow a ministry outside of the local church.
A critical aspect of this journey is one that I do not talk about very often –
your mindset.
The mindset of a Kingdom Minister is like none-other. You have to move beyond
working your ministry as a hobby and get serious about being obedient to the
instruction of the Lord.
Here is a video that shares some of the keys to having a Kingdom Minister’s

One of my secrets is that I study the power of time management so I can
complete the instructions the Lord has expects of me.
Here is a great tip to help you harness the power of time.

Map out your entire year at once.

Invest in a
yearly planner wall calendar for 2012 and map out all of your ministry
events. Begin with your vacation time, existing speaking engagements
(remember to block out your recuperation time), teleclasses and programs.

Identify your time to focus on completing larger projects such as writing
your book, creating resources or mapping out new programs for your flock.

The Lord is instructing me to greatly increase the amount of discipline at which
I operate. It is such a high level that I had to admit to myself that it is
beyond where I have ever been.
As usual, the first thing I do when I need more information, I research and find
books written by people already in this space.
I knew that it was not about working longer hours or working harder. In order to
move to the next realm of discipline, I have to master taking down time.
If you study high-level athletes, what sets the apart is not their athletic
training. Their secret lies in the routines they keep in their down time.
I have come to understand that vision is only as good as the vessel. If you are
tired, then the Lord’s message comes through tired and worn-out. In order to
move at higher levels, you have to take time in the Lord’s presence as well as
taking time out to refuel, rejuvenate and refresh.
Then your time on task is much more productive and thorough.
 I
had a speaking engagement on the beach a couple of weeks ago and I took this
picture. As I looked out over God's creation, I was reminded of just how
balanced God created the world. I was reminded of the power of slowing down,
taking time to refuel, and knowing that everything the Lord has instructed me to
do will be completed on time and with excellence. It really is a faith move to
know that even in your down time, God is still orchestrating His vision for your
life. It gives Him the space to be God.
I am really good at being productive, not so good at knowing when to stop and be
balanced.
